catchin up (part 2)

soooo, current projects anyone? i decided to join jenifer's knit along and make the bag i've been dreaming of since the first time i walked into the seconds shop at brown sheep. so what does it take to make my dream bag? well theres the basics. the pattern doesn't exist so i had to get creative

and it took a lot of graph paper and oclored pencils but i finally came up with the perfect layout.
and i already had the yarn

so all i had to do was learn to knit entrelac. i camped out at the lys all afternoon and cursed my way along but i'm getting there i almost can do it without screwing up every 5th stitch. i can do it i can do it! and i'll have a knitting toting bag! woo hoo i've been dying to cast on for this!

I like the colors you chose for your bag. Is it similar to the French Market bag? Michelle did one of those last year or the year before. I think it was from a vogue pattern and I can't remember if it was felted or not, but you could always ask her.

hogwarts sock swap (year 1)

yup. thats right i've sent off my swap package for hogwarts sock swap ...unfortunately via muggle post. sigh. have i ever told you how much i hate the post office? apparently the box i was recycling from starbucks wasn't good enough and i had to repack the goodies at the post office into a priortiy box at wich point they couldn't find me any tape so they made me use the priority mail tape but i couldn't tape up the box the guy did it for me so he went around the box 3 different ways. he taped my scribbled address onto the box from my notes sheet. wouldn't le tme go get alabe or anything and half the address got covered by priority mail tape but its fine...what? anyhoo. i hoep it gets where it is supposed to go. i'll be blogstalking to make sure it does :) what was in said oddly taped package you say? well... socks of course. bertie botts. plus regular and sour flavored beans. some dark chocolate for the witch or wizard with more evil tastes. cow tal...

it's a sad day

for starbucks when a great manager resigns because he's getting too much crap from his boss. a shitton of crap from the guys upstairs and not a whole lot of help. we like to try to set our team up for success. but we don't try to set them up for failure. and that is what has been happening! i'm probably gonna hear something 'cause i'm posting this but it's got to be said. since april i've been working in the second busiest store in central florida. until recently we were beating out all the others in our district. this means we have to work hard. really hard. just to keep up. forget about getting ahead. keeping things shiny clean? no way. shoot for passable. cause you can't really do much else. there's not enough time it is impossible to stay on top. when you're understaffed. when you can't get labor hours. when you have only 2 team members in the store for 2 hours at a time! you barely get things done. and the bosse's boss. well she laid...
