pair # 2

so i received these in the mail from LEE aka the dancing crow. all the way from massachusetts. lemme see here they arrived on the 26th. that would have been tuesday. yeah thats right :) and these are going to david aka uzzie l tonight. i'm headed over to the post office now. whew. once again the pattern is the sock of doom fr sockwars. this time the yarn is elsabeth lavold silky wool. lee's choise. i'm happy for the opportunity to knit with it again. they are two tone cause lee thought there might not have been enought to knit 'em solid an di think she may have been right. time on needles i have no idea. i got 'em off the waste yarn and onto needles alsmosyt as soon as i got 'em on tuesday and knit when i had time. too many long shifts at starbucks. ok. i'm tired. but i refuse to have any more coffee. no more. you can't make me !!! changes: i knit the foot at a tighter gauge than was intended by the pattern. i think it will make a sungger fitting sock

sock warring along

see that? thats sock wars socks. what are they? finished! woo hoo! 9 hours of knittig baby and they went out by express mail this morning. i just hope that my assasin was not among those who got their dossier early. see yarn monkey was delayed in mailing out the patterns and intended target info by a hurricane. yup a hurricane. sheesh. it's like real war. almost. not really. actually not at all. cause who ever heard of killing someone with a pair of socks. really? and just so you know. if you are getting ready to go to the post office. the mailman will laugh at you. so be prepared :) pattern: sockwars pattern sock of doom yarn: brown sheep lambs pride superwash (worsted) modifications: i had to go up to worsted to get gauge (5.5 spi) it was supposed to be a pattern for dk but i just don't see it. that wouldn't make a solid pair of socks...oh and i didn't bind off and seam the toe as directed. eewww. kitchner all the way baby.

whew...

it happened. i got cocky. i knit and i knit and i knit an di didn't put in lifelines...fortunately i was able to rip back only one repeat on one half of the scarf ad salvage it. i have no idea how i got the stitches back on the needles. but i did it. whew. ok. back to knitting. 5 more repeats. on two sides. thats 50 rows each side. and i'm done. i can dot it! i think i can i think i can...unles the sock wars pattern gets posted and then the scarf goes on to stitch holders cause i'm gonna need those needles for socks!!! edit. i was waiting til the camera batteries charged to take a photo to post with the above and welll...i kinda got carried away knitting on my scarf. see first i realized how little yarn i had left. there wasnt even a whole pattern repeat there i just knew it. and before i knew it the edge was cast off. my needles lying off to the side ignored... the pattern useless i was done with it. the sock tote i've been using for a month to keep the scarf safe...e

too much coffee

thats one of the problems with unlimited free coffee...you drink too much. and i have to get up early tomorrow and i'm so wired. and i'm playing around online. wanna see what i did??? you use a flickr toy to do this. its too much fun!!!

dog

she's been acting a little dejected lately more than a little upset about the move. and really not amused by my absences for work but all in all she seems to be adjusting even if she doesn't think she's getting enough love and not nearly enough food but we've been walking a lot which doesn't make up for the loss of her yard but at least there is a bunny to share to make it all ok :) and i just had to post these cause neige apparently has a twin . well not really but go check it out is really funny they could be sisters!

job

woo hoo. wlelo sort of i mean its not dream work. it's only starbucks. but it is work. and i get to have health insurance again, which can be useful. you don't know how hard its been being careful not to get sick or hurt (i'm a horrible klutz if you didn't ge tthat from the title here in gravity land) and they want me. which at least makes me feel useful for a change. you all know how it goes with job hunting. a million no's and then finally a yes. i mean it is a yes but its not a real job. no offense to all those fabulus barristas out there. i want a job where i have to think and sadly. memorizig coffee facts just doesn't do much for me....sigh sorry i'm not this grouchy, really. it's just frustrating hearingall those no's you know? hahhaha sorry its early. i'm dippy. but anyhoo. i start on monday. i have to learn how to use a headset. this store has a drive through. i'm concerned. i'm not horribly techosavvy when it c

mittens!

i just wanted to invite anyone interested to join the mitten swap . i think we're going to have a lot of fun. but so far it's kind of a lonely group. sou you should join :) k. commercial over.

ISE3 update

repeated post from the ISE3 page forgiveness for my laziness :) i have reviewd my pal's questionnaire and i believe that some of my stash yarn is a perfect fit! who knew! i've read her blog, i've commented, i've emailed, and i am off. wanna see the progress so far? i'm knitting branching out. from knitty, but i decided i didn't like the lace being assymetrical so i'm knitting it in two pieces and i'll graft it later. (hence the icky grey yarn at the bottom) the yarn is a ball of annonymous purple mohair i found in my stash. i never knew what i was going to do with it before now. yippee! and i even think my pal will like this. at least i hope so :) i'm having a lot of fun but i've never knit lace (with laceweight yarn) before so i'm kind of scared. cross your fingers. i'm 3 repeats in so far i thought i'd do a couple more and put in a lifeline. adventurous yes. stupid. no :) edit: ok i'm officially having too much fun!!! 7 repeats

funky scarf revisited

so remember the funky scarf? well i was informed that the photographs did not do it justice so i am here to post new ones. hope they give you a better idea. oh and theres some macro shots cause the fabric and stitches loooked so cool :)

and the winner is...

you know i want to send a prize to everyone but i can't see theres are only so many balls of yarn in the stash. and only a few i can bear to part with!!! quiet please while we announce the winner... the slip of paper was very scientifically chosen by my four footed assistant neige. the scraps were placed face down on the carpet and she chose one slip. i assure you there was peanut butter on only one piece of paper ;) Erin! i guess the pup liked your entry best. congratulations. please send me your mailing info and i will pop your prize into the mail.
