and just because i have to. welcome spring :)

counting chickens

i'm not, really i'm not but the phone interview went well. he had to make a few more phone calls but thinks i will be called back for the technical aptitude bit. don't know what that is all about but we shall see. keep your fingers crossed. i wasn't even sure i want top take the first job i apply for but it would certainly make things easier no? especially since i have to move by the end of july. lease is up landlords selling house. total nightmare. anyway. life happens right. and i would finally have my own place. wooo hoo! ok. i'm off. i'm just babbling anyway!

dying of anticipation

so i just looked at ALL of the finished sock updates on the blue blog for sockpaloooza this week;. and its killing me! i want tomail my socks out. i want to know which pair is mine! i know its silly but i have to know. not next week , now! ok. i think i'm done with my tantrum, but i really do want to know which socks are mine! there are so many beautiful socks out there. dn with 600+ pairs i'll never figure it out!
oh and one last thing. i was asked what my new hairdut looks like so here it is :) it is getting a little shaggy i see that now oh well better make an appointment

sewing update

well the italy tote is completed. interested in the trip its going on this summer? stop by my blog :) and the inside. there are two side pouches for cell phone and sunglasses, the front pocket for maps, back for train tickets, inside for my travel book and my crowning accomplishement, the inner zip pocket! forgive the multiple post. (finished objects and tote along got the same message) i just didn't have time to come up with anything more interesting to say here :)

knitting updates

ok, now for a knitting update :) i know thats what you really wanted to see. here are the contents of the sockpalOOOza package that goes out in one week. i am so excited! counterclockwise from lower left: there is a sock tote for her to use the next time she knits a pair of socks, the socks, postits. my favorite way to mark patterns, a card telling her all about her socks, a postcard of longs peak to show where i'm from, a birthday card fror her to share with a knitting friend on a special day, and stitch markers. yeay! i love presents! i can't wait to mail this! and on to current knitting... so a few weeks ago i went down to highlands ranch for the Littleton meetup, i went next door to string to do a yarn exchange. thats like free yarn you know. and picked up 7 balls of this elsabeth lavold sily wool. ooooh. wonderful yarn! i know, there are only 4 in the photo. thats because my italy cardigain is well under way. 2 balls in i just stared the third and i love love love this y

school updates

the career fair wasn't a smashing success. there really weren't any employers there that were looking for physicists...and its hard to convince an engineer that a physicist can do his job. oh well. i did get a call back and have a phone interview tomorrow. keep your fingers crossed! school is going well, final projects are rolling along. i'm in denial and haven't started craming for finals yet. i know crazy but thats ok. and for those of you who wondered what you do if you're a senoir in physics. you try to make a hologram on a glass plate of a quater. wierd huh? even wierder. it worked. first try! which is good cause we only had 6 plates to work with. the first one turned out great. i tried to take a photo of it but it didn't turn out so heres a not so exciting photo :) heres the setup for a red light hologram! lights on... and lights off i know i'm a dork. get over it :)

ack

ok i'm off to the career fair with a so so resume and a great suit. think they will cancel each other out. oh that and the fact that i don't have th right degree for any of these compaies. ugh. cross your fingers!

italy etc

as promised i have a list of cities with some neat web links for you all to peruse. some are stopovers some are day trips some are just intermediaries bt it has been a fun trip to plan. i highly reccomend rick steves books. they've been a big help and a lot of fun to read! warning. link intensive post. don't be a chicken. tehy are safe sites i've been perusing them for a while. look for the union jack if you can't read something a lot of the sites have english counterparts or just struggle with it and pretend you're me. (i've been listening to german and italian tapes on my ipod but i think i'm in trouble anyway) i know it seems strange to include hotel links. but they have some neat photos. and i want to show you that i am being brave. i'm staying in hostels after i ditch mom in milan :)! sometimes i'll be staying in rooms with up to 16 other people. my dad would have a heart attack. he's already talking about renewing his passpo

so...

i've been busy you could have guessed that i guess. i'm planning my trip to italy, switzerland, austria, and germany. a full list of cities soon i swear! and i promise to bring back some yarn. i'll just have to see what i can fit into my pack! which should hold more than i can afford. if not. well i will jus thave to ditch some of my belongings :) i'm ironing out my itenerary. working on my resume. dreading finals and ignoring class projects. i'm drinking far too much caffeine and not enough alcohol. i'm screwing up my knitting, and sewing snappy bags. and i swear i will have photos soon. i promise ;)

sockpalOOOza socks complete!

well i have a finished pair to present! i cannot wait to mail these off. i have to give them a good wash and make sure the color is set. but they are done! woo hoo. i could have usually knit 2 pair of socks in the time it took to make these! geez. i had to rip so many times i guess thats what you do if you're knitting for someone other than family. it has to be perfect. or as close as i can get it! i'm sure there are a million mistakes but i don't want to know about them! i can't believe i'm going to give these away. and i can't wait to give them away! soooo excited! this yarn is knitpicks dye your own sock yarn. done with koolaid and the help of my friend shirley. oh and i used schoeller esslinger reinforcing yarn for the heels and toes. the pattern is adapted from sockbug's lacy scallop socks. i didn't do purl rows between the lace repeats. i also used a short row or hourglass heel.

do you watch grey's anatomy?

cause i just watched this episode i haven't seen one in ages...and dr. meredith grey was "knitting" a sweater and isobel/isabelle from roswell was saying grey was actually not knitting cause isobel was knitting the pieces for her and switching them out. so i want to know who is really knitting the things i make? cause if they're just switching the pieces out for me so i think i'm actually accomplishing things should stop. not that i don't want the help but i have an idea for a better use of both of our time. maybe we can work out a schedule so that we are both actually working on a project but different sections and that way it gets done twice as fast. ya know? and i have another question. is it strange to anyone else tha tthe same actress has the same name in two differentshows? just wondering. and why can't the writers just let people be happy once in a while? if you didn't watch sorry to confuse ou. really its the cold meds talking. ign

photoless update

well i've turned the heel on the second sockpaloooza sock. i'm ready for the ribbing on bad penny 2 as soon as my 1's are freed up from the sockpal socks. in my bordeom with onloy 2 colors knitting i started on some stripey (not self striping min dyou) socks but had to steal the needles back to work on sockpal socks. i picked up some misti baby alpaca to try yet again for a hat for dave. and am hoping to start on slippers for mom's cousin. guess that makes her my cousin too who is coming out for graduation in may must knit faster. but first must get unsick. yuck.

flashing.

sorry i'm a little late with the messed up back and the cold i got for going to the doctor for the back well i've been under the weather. hit the stash link to your left or click here . its all there :)
