drive photos...a little bit late

but hey who's counting right? if you're just checking in, dave and i drove from denver to orlando for our move a few weeks oh heck its really amonth now isn't it? and dave's camera is operational (mine is sadly not). and he was able to take some neat photos on our drive down from colorado and i wanted to share so here we go! our first day we drove about 750 miles to dad's house in san angelo texas. somewhere along the way. i guess about the time we were leaving colorado we stopped in at the colorado visitor center. (i know i know we were leaving colorado but there is something to be said about free coffee and clean bathrooms) there are quite a few windmills down that way for electricity obviously. and they have a windmill blade mounted at the visitor center. just blows you away (haha) how huge those guys are you don't think about it til they are going the opposite way down the highway onthe back of a flatbed and they've somehow crammed two of those suc

agonizing

dave was really cute yesterday and asked what i was planning to do today (my day off) i'm not really sure was my response (lie lie lie lie lie). i was planning to spend most of the day agonizing over what pattern and yarn to use for my hogwarts socks ! :) you see its a complicated proposition. there are so many patterns that would be absolutely perfect. what? no i'm not planning your basic striped sock. that would be oh so boring. so i spent some time looking for patterns and i think i have it narrowed down to 2. first there are the red herring herringbone socks from knitty. then there are the bakerloo sideways socks from magknits . either one would be perfect for this it has a stripe (sort of) and would accomodate the clashing oh did is say clashing i meant non matchingly bright colors of a hogwarts house :) sorry can you tell i'm knitting for hufflepuff? i think i may be buzzing by the time i finish with black and yellow let me tell you! both patterns are also very diffe

ancient history and some a bit more current :)

i've pulled the long since finished projects off the progress reports. i promise to post finised objects soon. i swear i swear. and i'm going to get some new knits up for you to ogle soon. i just have to handle the aforementioned camera issue. maybe i'll just steal dave's. what do you think? in other news. we're moved. i'm 2/3 legal to drive in orlando i just have to get my liscense updated. dave's still waiting on his car. don't even get me started on that one. lets just say he's livid and the money we saved by putting it on a transport instead of putting it in the moving truck went to a rental car. and then some. sigh. we're mostly unpacked. its pouring. what happened to "the sunshine state" huh? i like my new store. its different but its fun. and oh my god are we busy. they neglected to tell me i was transferring to the 2nd busiest lobby store in florida. oh yeah. who knew! :) but the good news is i'm busy. i never have time to g

thank you

to my dear sweetie dave for fixing the progress bars so they stay where they are supposed to. i'll be updating more often now that i can stand to look at the blog. whew! now if i could only get the batteries for the camera to hold a charge ;) hint hint :)

Harry potter sock swap!

I've decided to join, against better judgement. i've been in a knitting slump and i think this will help me kick it into gear! oh i'm so excited! and it looks like i'm a ravenclaw too! Sort Me! thanks jenifer for posting about the swap :) here are my questionnaire answers: 1. What Hogwarts house have you been sorted into? Ravenclaw 2. Shoe size? US women's size 9 3. Foot Length? about 10 inches 4. Foot Circumference? 8.5 inches 5. List your three favorite double-point needle brands, including size and length i don't have a particular favorite brand, i did like knitting with my brittany's once but my clovers are nice too. i guess wood or bamboo would be best. and i would like sock needls in (0's), (1's), or (2's) and i prefer shorter needles. 6. Would you like to try a new brand needle? ok :) If so, which brand? i have a lot of steel and aluminum dpns already i'd prefer to try something new. Size? Any is fine - I knit hats and armwarmers a
