FO report. relaly. just trust me on this one! see i have 3 items finished. but dave has my camera. so i have no proof as of yet :) i finished dave's italy socks after ripping out the toe twice. if i hear "can you make them just a little longer" one more time i think i'll cry :) i also finished my log cabin socks. it can be cold outside now so i can wear them! and last but not least i finished my monster slippers. they're fiber trends felted clogs but a little sillier. you'll have to trust me til i can take a photo. now for the UFO report the back to the everest vest is done and the front is an inch or 2 in to it. the hood to my mom's sweater is done but needs ripping. it has a wierd little pointy thing in the back. i have no idea what i'm gonna do. i cast on for a pair of toe up socks for my mom. shhh don't tell. its an experiment with a mango moon yarn i can't remember the name right now sue had it and it was part of my stashalon

i'm knitting a bit. i'm sweating a lot. it has been unbearably warm here lately. hence the knitting not so much. i just don't like the feel of damp yarn. call me crazy. but there is light at the end of the tunnel. rather there is central air conditioning. or there will be. at the new place. see. since lesely has not found a new job yet. and since th elandlord is selling the current place...she has to move with mom to a new place. which happens to have airconditioning. yeay. the bad news i'm moving up to north denver. i am pretty sure we could spit on the airport from the new place. sigh. i'm gonna miss the boulder snb girls and guys. mental note, knit with them as much as possible before the move. i will however be able to visit the denver knitters more conveniently now. and even better i will be able to comfortably knit, even wool, in the summer. yeay. cross your fingers i do find a job soon though. if nothing more than for my sanity. but m

so i get to do what we all want to do for the next couple of days. i get to run a yarn shop. no wait its not all good news. i'm filling in for a friend. its actually sad. her mom passed away over the holiday weekend. but if you have some time to kill and want to knit i'm sure i'll get lonely. the shop cat (mew mew) is going on vacation. sue will be in pennsylvania. and i'll be knitting my little heart out and trying not to get confused on the register. so i had to post a few long overdue updates before i have a ton of FO reporsts and nothing to prove i actually knit them :) so here goes! and i apologize in advance. i'm having formattting issues and can't seem to justify all the photos the same. ack. makes me crazy but i'm sure you don't care :)

i agreed to teach a class for sue over at mew mews . and to make her shop sample of fiber trends felted clogs. here is the yarn she wanted me to try. neither of us has ever felted it before so why not give it a try right?

and an update ( a little late ) on my first log cabin sock. i took the photo a couple of days ago and it's already obsolete... this sock is patiently waiting for me to track down a tapestry needle to kitchener it off. whew. one more to go!

so i was getting alittle bored with the hooded pullover i'm making for mom so i perused my stash and decided i wanted to use the brown sheep naturespun superwash that i picked up with cynthia last summer. but what to make ??? i decided on the everest vest in interweave. don't remember which one. sorry it's upstairs. and now i have a few repeats completed i'm really liking the simplicity yet thinkiness of this knit so far. sue over at mew mew's suggested a new twist on the cable. its hard to see a difference in the photo but its not a 3 crossed over 3 cable thats a 4 over 2 baby. living dangerously! :)

ok now a FO report for ya. i started these socks on the plane to cincinnatti (that was our connection to rome) and i finished the first on the plane from munich to atlanta. then i ripped half of it out. worked some at sue's new shop MEW Mew's. redid some of it at SNB boulder. then cast on for the second. and finished up in the car on the way to my mom's friend's garden party. they are a well traveled pair of socks! the yarn is art yarns superwash merino. there is no pattern. just a gauge swatch some quick math. it's knit toe up, hourglass heel. just shy of 3 balls used. oh and theres a kicker i used two different toes...one is short row and one is hell i dunno what i did on that first plane ride i was a little dippy. didn't realize it til i tried 'em on they're different but not too bad. funny huh? ok, next up dave's taly socks a progress shot. i got him to try these on (with his eyes cllosed. he wasn't sure how to do this so i had to try to br

next up, an update on my mom's hooded pullover. i have recently gotten through about half of the hood. and an old update photo or two jus tbecause the back and here's the front just before i finished up the shoulders

ok so i was going to wait to post photos of my trip yarn til i got to the germany portion of my trip blog but i can't wait. and i'm also doing a further disclosure for the stashalog. i've made a 6 month commitment to use up my stash. by then maybe i will be... (rather i damn well better be) working and will be able to have an all out splurge day! so here's the most recent acquirements i'll also add them to my stash page :) first up, they yarn jenifer so kindly gifted to me at the pre estes sleepover uisn't is beautiful! next up actual estes yarn. more interlacements. of course! then some mission falls that was backordered and finally came in the mail some mountain colors bear foot now the real haul. the stuff i got a 3 different but 3 very wonderful german yarn shops. my regia haul 4 color cotton color bamboo color ... neat huh and some regia cotton inda color (yes i already lost the label) this is for some belated birthday socks for shirley. must finish da
