finished socks

i'd like to report 2 completed pair of socks.

daves socks are done. 72 hours on the needles thank you very much. he has them. they fit. he litkes them. but they pinch his toes...what??? socks stretch. they give and handknit socks mold to your feel. he is insane and we will leave it at that! oh and you'll have to believe me that they are done because once again i have gifted socks sans photographic proof. damn!


shirleys socks are done. she loves them. they fit. they do not pinch her toes. they do however tickle. i have no idea what that means. but i will post photos tomorrow. its late, i'm sleepy and want to crash. but i will update tomorrow :)

someone was awfully interested in having hers and bunny's photographs taken. while i tried to ge tthe socks...sigh. who knew the dog is an attention hog and...she wants her toys in on the action!



there. gave the beast a treat. got the tootsies up on the chair for better light. whadda ya think?


and last but not least. shirley dropped by the boulder snb meeting at amante last week to collect her new jaywalkers. they fit perfectly. and she loves them. whew. one ball of sock yarn purchased in germany down. who knows how many to go :)

what do you do

with a beautiful day off? well we went for a "scent"ic drive out to the beach. we being the dog. and me. she loves to stick her nose out the window and smell where we are going. we took a few lonely roads. ok, so maybe like 10 little roads. i make turns at random when i'm not in a hurry. and can you blame me? just check out the view! it really was spectacular. i would love to live out this way! we finally arrived at north beach in point reyes national seashore. they have a few beaches where leashed pets are allowed. i snacked on a quick lunch of tomatoes, figs, raisins, and almonds (from the farmer's market again) then we headed down to the water. my baby is 12 and she's never seen the ocean. i must be a terrible mother or something. she was just staring and staring. she couldn't get enough. after repeatedly chasing and running away from the waves for a half an hour she was content to just sit back and relax on a dune. and then she stood and told me it was ti...

it's a sad day

for starbucks when a great manager resigns because he's getting too much crap from his boss. a shitton of crap from the guys upstairs and not a whole lot of help. we like to try to set our team up for success. but we don't try to set them up for failure. and that is what has been happening! i'm probably gonna hear something 'cause i'm posting this but it's got to be said. since april i've been working in the second busiest store in central florida. until recently we were beating out all the others in our district. this means we have to work hard. really hard. just to keep up. forget about getting ahead. keeping things shiny clean? no way. shoot for passable. cause you can't really do much else. there's not enough time it is impossible to stay on top. when you're understaffed. when you can't get labor hours. when you have only 2 team members in the store for 2 hours at a time! you barely get things done. and the bosse's boss. well she laid...
