it's all packed!

so here was the initial cut for the stuff to pack for the trip. turns out i had to take out a couple books, a pair of jeans a sweater and a pair of shoes.

it tidies up nicely in ziplocks though. a must if you're packing in a top loading backpack. that way its easy to get to the things in the bottom of the bag without refolding everything every single time :)

and wonder of wonders. its all in the bag. and it only weighs 29 pounds. not too bad i don't think :) we leave tomorrow. the ipod is still not loaded with music. crap!

have fun! take lots of pics. even though I took more pics than I usually do while I was in Europe, I feel like I didn't take enough. Can't wait to see them!

My son's school pack is over 20 lbs, so you are really doing great! Have loads of fun and don't forget to find a Bicerin!

knitting updates

ok, now for a knitting update :) i know thats what you really wanted to see. here are the contents of the sockpalOOOza package that goes out in one week. i am so excited! counterclockwise from lower left: there is a sock tote for her to use the next time she knits a pair of socks, the socks, postits. my favorite way to mark patterns, a card telling her all about her socks, a postcard of longs peak to show where i'm from, a birthday card fror her to share with a knitting friend on a special day, and stitch markers. yeay! i love presents! i can't wait to mail this! and on to current knitting... so a few weeks ago i went down to highlands ranch for the Littleton meetup, i went next door to string to do a yarn exchange. thats like free yarn you know. and picked up 7 balls of this elsabeth lavold sily wool. ooooh. wonderful yarn! i know, there are only 4 in the photo. thats because my italy cardigain is well under way. 2 balls in i just stared the third and i love love love this y...
and a last farewell...before i ripped out sunrise circle i took a parting photo...this sweater was jus tnot meant to be. too many other things wanted to be finished first. soon to come the bad penny 2 that i'm making for my trip to italy!

so much to do!

with only a few days to relax. a trip to the beach turns into a blur of "i just want to sit here" mixed with "but we have to do this too" so several days worth of photos divided into day parts. cause really it is all running together :) think sandra bullock from that movie premonition where the days are out of order...but nobody's gonna die. sunrise: over the ocean. after waking up early not feeling well from a late night out with the family. i took one for the team ad finished the wine...don't do that. not good. i ran the 2 blocks to the boardwalk and over the dunes to the water to get these couple of shots. seagulls and beachcombers are your only company when it's this early! i've never seen so many mussel shells when it wasn't after dinner. midday: on the boardwalk. after the beach you go to the boardwalk to grab lunch at mack and mancos. apparently the best pizza ever. i'm not convinced. but heck i don't really get the wa...
