while driving across the country there is not enough room in the car. period. west texas is more humid than colorado no matter what they say about "dry heat" the alamo is actually kinda boring. if you bad talk the car it will stall in rush hour traffic in some strange city you know nothing about. if you cross your fingers it will start working again normally for no apparent reason. gasoline is expensive. spanish moss is not moss. it's not spanish. it's some freakish form of pineapple. driving 2200 miles across the country takes a long time. when you are supposed to reverse the pattern while you are knitting a lace repeat. actually reverse it if not you'll be ripping out later. movers lie and do not arrive when they are supposed to. air mattresses are not as comfortable as they appear to be on commercials. cheap chinese buffet food gets really old really fast. 1200 sq ft apartments are not cool without furniture. boyfriends think it's crazy to buy houseplant...

Gosh where do I begin? I am gonna miss this place so much. Mountains. People. My life as I know it. Mountains. Wow. I am gonna miss my mom so much. I know we fight. the packing progresses. the apartment has been found and reserved. the movers are scheduled. there is renter's insurance. there is electricity. there is heartworm and anti-bug medication for the dog. repairs are scheduled for the windshield. the parents (all 7) are making us crazy. a father wants to follow us to lorida to make sure everythingis ok. a mother wants to fly down to clean the house. the others are already there on vacation. the other mother is too busy dealing with other stuff to do too much in the way of nagging. i know i know i've been a.w.o.l. for quite some time. but i've been busy with well life. heres a few things that have kept me away from you. work. obviously. spending time with family ie: mom with birthdays and tea parties and all sorts of sewing projects and then spending time with and knitting hats (shedir and odessa) for auntie (who has just started chemo for stage 4 lung cancer) no we're not even gonna talk about that any more. conversation closed. knitting samples for sue's shop (socks & kids hats etc). knitting thigh high socks for a friend. yes i am completely insane. learning to dye yarn with dear sweet wonderful jenifer. visiting with friends of dave and no me from philly. and dying yarn with said new friends. and visiting yarn shops that hav ebeen inthe denver area for years that i never got around to seeing. driving dave to and from the airport on his was to job interviews. working on a quilt i started back in high school. yes thats right. in my fabr...

so i knitted in boulder the other day and they were suprised to see my hair was short. as you can see in the next post it was a bit of a shock and yes that is bedhead but its not much of a change for post workday. the damn headsets always make you look lik eyou slept in a tree. :)
